NAVEN                 Draper / 1st thru Production Pattern maker

                             Fall 2012/13 to Present

            Womens' Better Contemporary Market

Responsible for entire Collection- jackets, dresses, tops and bottom

As the sole patternmaker at Naven, I am focused on improving the fit and finish of their offerings.

I work in collaboration with the Head Designer and Creative Director, Kymberley McClay.

The core collection is draped and cut in silk, we are using knits and synthetics to produce the private label programs.

Working the private label programs, I focus on cutting costs by optimizing consumptions and implementing more simplistic finishing techniques while preserving the integrity of their aesthetic. I advise the production team to facilitate continuity of a high standard of quality workmanship. I am in the process of developing slopers, in order to increase my productivity and maintain a consistency in fit.

During my time at Kill City the label grew expediciously, as did the product catagories. I met every deadline and achieved consistency in fit, while adjusting to a turnover of 5 designers and 5 production managers during a 3 year period. Quality and fit were not compromised and delivery dates were met, in large part, due to, my dedication, a swift interpretation of the designers' visions and ability to perform under pressure. I developed innovative solutions to garment construction, in tandem with deign concepts. Some SMS were developed in China, I would create the 1st pattern  and follow up with any revisions to fit, styling or finish, using Adobe Illustrator, as needed. All cutters musts and sewing instructions were documented on an Excel format. I generated production tech packs: target specs, graded specs, sewing instructions, fabric and trim details and approved all graded nests and t.o.p.s.  I conducted all fittings and managed a team of 1 cutter and 3 samplemakers. I would ditize patterns sent to China on the  Pad system.

Graduated at the top 5% of my class. Winning 5 Gold Thimbles at our final year fashion show, judged by industry professionals. During my last semester, began my industry career at Campus Casuals of California.

At the time, LATT was highly respected for providing the best technical training in California. I studied pattern making under Mrs. Helen Armstrong, who went on to author the textbook Patternmaking for Fashion Design.
